Peninsula Del Rey

Well-situated just 15 minutes from downtown San Francisco, Peninsula Del Ray offers an upscale environment that feels like home. We particularly liked the thoughtful detailing of the living accommodations, such as granite countertops, private balconies or patios, extra storage space and floor plans ranging from studios to two-bedroom units. On-site amenities include a heated outdoor spa, a salon/barbershop, a library and a state-of-the-art fitness center. Curb-to-curb scheduled transportation is available to local events, entertainment and shopping venues and appointments.

Sagebrook Senior Living at San Francisco

We liked the grand piano in the common area next to the restaurant-style dining room and the attractive outdoor living space with comfortable seating and nature trails, but what impressed us the most about this facility was its calendar of Watermark University classes. Residents can learn a new language, brush up on their guitar playing skills, practice yoga and discover new gardening techniques along with a range of other physical, artistic and intellectual pursuits and pastimes. Floor plans at this facility include studio and one-bedroom apartments equipped with kitchens or kitchenettes.

The Village at Hayes Valley

We loved The Village at Hayes Valley's setting in a fully restored Victorian mansion in one of San Francisco's best neighborhoods. With only 45 residents, this facility provides a boutique experience designed around individual needs. However, the only floor plan option here is companion suites, so while this may be a good option for those who would enjoy the company of a roommate, it may not be the best choice for seniors who appreciate their privacy.
