Crestview is a city in Okaloosa County, about 50 minutes northeast of Pensacola and conveniently located by I-10. Its population grew by 22.7% between 2010 and 2020, making it one of Florida’s fastest-growing cities and now home to 27,000+ residents, 10.9% of whom are seniors.

While the city enjoys the same senior-friendly climate that’s earned Florida its nickname, The Sunshine State, there are some features found in Crestview that outshine other Floridian cities. For example, the water quality is of an exceptionally high standard, there are more physicians per capita than the national average and it’s home to the high-performing North Okaloosa Medical Center. The average cost of living is also below Florida’s average, which helps residents get more value for their dollar.

The results of Genworth’s 2021 Cost of Care Survey show the typical senior in Crestview pays $4,924 per month for assisted living, which is above the state average of $4,000 and the country’s $4,500. However, Crestview isn’t the costliest city for assisted living in the Panhandle. Panama City is the most expensive, with an average monthly fee of $157 more than Crestview.

If Crestview has piqued your interest, check out our list of the top 10 assisted living facilities serving seniors throughout the area.
