Situated less than an hour’s drive from Arizona’s state capital and largest city, Phoenix, Apache Junction offers significantly more sunny days than the national average, hot summers, cool winters and warm, pleasant shoulder seasons. Approximately 33.3% of the Apache Junction’s total population is aged 65 and over. This is much higher than the national average, which means that Apache Junction is very likely to have more community-based services and resources designed to optimize the quality of life for senior citizens than the average U.S. city.

Residents of assisted living facilities in Apache Junction and other suburbs surrounding Phoenix pay a monthly average of $3,975, which is only a few dollars lower than Arizona’s statewide median of $4,000 per month. The national average, however, is $4,500 per month, making Apache Junction a good choice for budget-minded seniors.

Note: Data for Apache Junction was unavailable, so data for the nearest city, Phoenix, was used instead.
