Washington Volunteer Chore Services (VCS)


 Overview of Volunteer Chore Services
Washington State's Volunteer Chore Services helps the elderly remain independent and living at home by providing assistance to people who do not qualify for other state-run chore services that have more restrictive eligibility criteria. Services are provided at no charge for those individuals who cannot afford to pay for assistance.

 Volunteer Chore Services Eligibility
To be eligible for Chore Services, individuals must be Washington State residents and live at home.  Applicants must be at least 60 years of age or disabled.  While there are not strict financial eligibility limits, the individual's income is considered a qualifying factor.

  Benefits / Services Provided by Volunteer Chore Services
Chore Services are provided free of charge by volunteers.  The types of assistance can include any of the following but can sometimes be limited by the availability and skills of the volunteers.

-Grocery Shopping
-House and Yard Work
-Laundry
-Meal Preparation
-Minor Home Repair           
-Moving Assistance    
-Personal Care
-Protective Supervision
-Respite care
