What is Florida's Alzheimer's Disease Initiative?
The Alzheimer's Disease Initiative is a statewide program that provides a variety of education and support services for Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers. Most relevantly are their respite care services, which are offered in-home, in adult day care, and in residential facilities in a unique program known as extended respite for up to 30 days.
What are the Eligibility Criteria for the Alzheimer's Disease Initiative?
In addition to being a Florida resident, individuals cannot be living in a skilled nursing residence or assisted living facility. They must have a diagnosis of Alzheimer's, dementia or related memory disorder.
What Services are Provided in the Alzheimer's Disease Initiative?
In addition to the previously mentioned respite care and extended respite, the ADI offers the following services:
